SUMMARY
I took a three week evening live Technical Designer course with IntoGames to gain insight into the workflow of a professional Technical Designer and improve on my existing technical knowledge.
The assignment was to create a door actor that developers such as level designers could place into the level and easily customize to their needs. We were provided a mock design brief and then required to implement as much of the requested features as possible and create a technical design document.
During the course I learnt the expected documentation quality and what to provide to aid different teams as well as tool implementation within the Unreal editor. ​Below are the results of my work from completing the course:
